The Seeger Sessions Revival–The 13-piece band ‘reviving’ the spirit, energy and musical exuberance that was Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions album and live shows. This diverse group of talented musicians deliver a high energy 2 hour-long on-stage celebration with hits including ‘Old Dan Tucker’, ‘Jesse James’ and ‘American Land’ to name just a few. Made up of Fiddle, Banjo, Accordion, Steel Guitar, Whistle, a thumping rhythm section, a superb virtuosic 4-piece Brass section and strong group vocal harmonies.
Sit back and enjoy an evening of Traditional American Folk songs consisting of a Jambalaya of Bluegrass, Folk, Country, Dixieland, Gospel, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Rhythm & Blues.
It sounds like a blast from the past just reading the press release above. But having listened to some of the recordings on the facebook page this is destined to be special. It’s bringing Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions alive in 2022. The ensemble of musicians is just right for the revival and it really is going to be a serious celebration of a great album and era in music.
Springsteen has never gone away and his music continues to grow and evolve. This revival of the spirit of The Seeger Sessions will only add to the continuation of the genius that is Springsteen. Only this is the genius of our very own musicians.
It all begins next Thursday night, 28th April at The Alley Theatre, Strabane. Another date is already confirmed for May 20th at Kelly’s Portrush. It’s going to be the revival to beat all others.
