BRANAR, in association with Riverbank Arts Centre presents: Woolly’s Quest – for ages 4+ at An Grianán Theatre Monday 11th March 11am & 1pm.
A rip-roaring yarn!

Branar Téatar do Pháistí, one of Ireland’s leading theatre companies for young audiences, is proud to be presenting WOOLLY’S QUEST, the epic and hilarious story of Woolly, the bravest of all sheep. Following the sell-out tour of Branar’s adaptation How To Catch a Star in autumn 2018, this new production for audiences aged 4+ is touring to venues across Ireland this spring, with two performances at An Grianán Theatre on Monday 11th March at 11am & 1pm.
Woolly was the first sheep who dared to be different – she dared to be adventurous, she dared to discover what happens to her wool. Audiences aged 4+ will be able to join Woolly and friends on their audacious quest to reclaim her shorn fleece, and marvel at her sheer bravery on a journey fraught with peril to learn what life looms beyond the gate. This is a bilingual show, suitable for children with all levels of Irish, that weaves together storytelling, music, song and puppetry to tell a tale that has audiences of all ages hooked!

Director Marc Mac Lochlainn says, “Making this show was the most fun I have had in a rehearsal room, and that excitement and fun is translated onto the stage by three of Ireland’s most versatile performers – Helen Gregg, Miquel Barcelo and Jonathan Gunning. They perform, they sing, they play instruments, they speak many languages – but most of all their love of performing for young audiences is palpable. Bainigí sult as!”
Branar enjoyed an extraordinary year in 2018. The company reached 17,182 audience members with 192 performances, of which 55 were abroad. 10,500 people enjoyed Branar’s critically-acclaimed How to Catch a Star with sell-out performances across twelve national venues and two international venues during the year.
